Vegetation Ecology: Biology 338

The course Vegetation Ecology: Biology 338 had three major themes:
  • Understanding restoration targets and the vegetation of the upper Midwest
  • Understanding the processes influencing vegetation and biodiversity 
  • Understanding the principals of ecological restoration in practice 

As a part of the course different natural areas and restoration sites in southern and western Wisconsin were toured in field trips.

  • Southern Wet Forests                                                                                  
    • Acer sacchrinum (Silver Maple)
    • Betula nigra (River Birch)
    • Salix nigra (Black Willow)
    • Populus
